'Fantastic Break'
Dear Sir or Madam
Just after christmas 2011 my partner and I were given a short break to your hotel as a gift from my daughter and grandaughter. It was the most fantastic break we have ever had. Starting with the wonderfull cream tea that was to die for. The five course evening meal was an experience never to be forgoten, The service and the staff were superb. The full english breakfast all cooked fresh, It was superb. The service was excellent. The best thing for us was the ground floor disabled room it was on-suite and very elegant, It was spotlessly clean and lots of treets that just finished every thing off. The staff were so helpfull, From the house keepers,Kitchen staff & managment, We wished it could have been longer. Thank you all for making our break so wonderfull. Yours sincerely Mrs B Tomlin (Jan 2012)
"Thank You"
Thank you to all concerned for such a wonderful time. We were able to stay for just Saturday night but what a fabulous place! The warm hospitality, unbelievable food and service, fabulous ambience and beautiful setting we loved it and hope to return. We have returned to work today feeling as though we've had a really good break yet it was just the one night. (Jan 2012)
"An Excellent Stay"
I would like to thank you for providing me with the perfect Christmas present for my mother and sister. Let me start by saying that had you not linked into the travel zoo website I may not have found your hotel. I am in Australia and wanted to give a xmas present to remember to my family as I was not able to be with them. I was so impressed by your staff from the moment I phoned from Australia to speak to them to see what your accommodation could offer for my mother and sister, The lady that spoke to me was so very helpful and said that the staff would do all they could to ensure my mother and sister received good service and care. I have just spoken to my mother who has nothing but praise for your staff and hotel, the cleanliness of your hotel was outstanding she had remarked, which is great as I am an infection control specialist who focuses on cleanliness and Hand Hygiene so please relay that to your housekeeping staff as I am aware that they work so very very hard in the background. The food was fantastic so please thank your chef and all the waiting staff, the views were to die for so please thank those that maintain your grounds and the lovely lady who suggested the room that would be suitable for my mother and sister. I just wanted you to know that your hotel has provided some lovely memories for my mother and sister and already has been recommended to friends.
Thank you once again and I hope to use your services again. (Dec 2011)
“Ruby Wedding Celebration”
Celebrated our Ruby Wedding here on the 2nd October 2011. Peace and tranquillity was the key factor here. We had a four poster bedroom on suite. The room was tastefully decorated. This particular weekend the weather was fabulous. We had drinks on the lawn and felt we were the only people in the world. The meal in the restaurant was fine dining at its best, food was perfectly cooked and service was good, never intrusive and always so pleasant. A weekend we will never forget. (Dec 2011)
“Wonderful Location For Romantic Breaks”
My husband and I stayed here midweek as a treat on my birthday. Staff were very welcoming on arrival, and charming & helpful throughout our stay. Our suite was lovely - spacious, clean and warm. No tea making facilities but we later found out that we could have asked for a complimentary tray of 'makings'. 5 course dinner was wonderful and the cooked-to-order breakfast (which we could have had served in our room) set us up for the day. We would love to stay here again NB dogs welcome. (Dec 2011)
“Beautiful Hotel in Beautiful Devon”
A truly lovely hotel where quality service comes as standard. If you are looking to be pampered and enjoy good food, then this is the hotel to choose. An absolute must is Dinner, where I can honestly say I have never tasted such good food (and i have stayed in some of the most famous hotels in the world) the chef here really is very talented! The grounds are kept well and there are some nice local walks to be had as well! The rooms are all well appointed and equipped with all that you would expect from a hotel. (Extract Dec 2011)
'Service to Die For'
Stayed here 23rd September for 1 night. What can I say. Probably best service ever in an Hotel . Every member of staff we came across were so accomadating and polite , a real credit to the hotel . From check-in to check-out faultless. Fantastic afternoon tea , amazing 5 coarse dinner and a cooked to order breakfast ...wow. Rooms and the little touches excellent. Forgot service like this still existed .Could wax lyrical about this place for hours ...but best to just go and sample it yourself EXCELLENT! (Sept 2011)
“Wonderful Experience- Loved It!”
Last week we visited Northcote Manor for the first time. Unlike so many upmarket hotels that do not live up to their name or price, this was a treat from start to finish. The peace and quiet is superb with amazing view across much of Devon from the lawn. A small team of the same staff, all the time (which really makes a difference) were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was the best in years with complementary canapes and pre-starter, all fresh local produce. Afternoon tea on the lawn was lovely and more than asked for, with great scones. It was also the cleanest hotel I have stayed in for years. A beautiful manor house, it is the perfect place for that special 'get away from it all'. It is also very dog friendly and welcomed our two labradors. We will certainly be back next year. (Aug 2011)
“Absolutely Superb”
Couldn't praise this hotel enough. We wanted a break away from a hectic working life and we certainly got it. We were met on the steps of the hotel as we drove up and when we returned from parking the car we were shown around and up to our room and our cases were waiting for us. We were in a suite with its own separate lounge. The room was clean and tidy and we slept well on the comfortable bed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and there when you wanted or needed them - you only had to ask for something and it was there. Food was terrific, so congratulations to the Chef, and it was lovely to be served breakfast cooked specially for you, rather than having to serve yourself from a hot counter. If you want the hustle and bustle of a big hotel this is not for you but if you want a relaxing stay in an 'olde worlde' manor with service as it should be, you can't do better than Northcote Manor. We'll certainly be back. (Aug 2011)
“Not To Be Missed”
My husband and I booked in for a two night weekend stay at Northcote Manor. A delightful small country house hotel with only 11 rooms. The whole experience is like staying in someone's country home. We wanted a quiet chill out time together while being 'looked after'. This is exactly what we had. The food is excellent (extremely fresh) and the service is also excellent and very personal. Staff quickly remember what you like to drink and quietly provide. There is no coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms, but you only need to ask and a tray arrives. As the hotel is set in it's own grounds, there is no noise. If you want to have a view over the front lawns, then ask for this. We highly recommend Northcote Manor. (Extract Aug 2011)
“Lovely Hotel in Lovely Setting”
My wife and I recently stayed for a couple of nights at Northcote Manor. The room was of a good size with a large comfortable bed. The housekeeping was excellent , the room was incredibly clean and tended to twice a day. The seating areas and restaurant are very clean and in good decorative order. All the staff were very friendly. Breakfast is served in the conservatory which certainly set us up for the day. The views from the hotel are spectacular and the cream tea is a must. We would certainly stay at Northcote again. (Extract Aug 2011)
“Luxurious End To Our Honeymoon.”
We discovered Northcote Manor several years ago and had a brief stay, that had us looking forward to a return visit. It has only improved since our last stay and benefits from a beautiful new conservatory where we enjoyed a light meal and our delicious breakfasts. It is a magnificent place to stay with a tranquil atmosphere and excellent service from the attentive but unobtrusive staff. We loved feeling like Lord and Lady for a couple of nights, with a walk in the gardens, game of Scrabble in the drawing room and cream tea in the new Sanctuary on the front lawns. Richie's food was as excellent as I remembered it to be, with both the Gourmet dinner and the lighter supper being wonderfully cooked and delicious. The study of Citrus desserts were just perfect. The breakfast was delicious. There were many options, that included cereals, toast, fruit and croissants, to start and fine main courses which included, full English using local produce and such dishes as smoked salmon, mackerel in truffle oil and bacon and cheese croissants. We had a very lovely stay and give many thanks to the wonderful staff who helped make it truly special. (Extract August 2011)
